It has been a strange week. As many of you know my friend Mitch Thomas completed his time here on Earth and is dancing with
Jesus now. It is so difficult for me to understand why if "the harvest is plenty, but the workers are few", Jesus would allow
this worker to go so young. To me, it seems like Mitch could do so much for the Kingdom of God here on Earth, but that's just
it, it's not up to me. What I know is that God is never wrong, everything He does is absolutely right, so if He chose not to
heal Mitch, it was the right thing. I don't like it, but I am happy for Mitch, and I am sure that God will use this situation
to do even greater things than I can imagine.
So now, I continue to pray for his family, and his new bride Chelsea.
They have demonstrated incredible faith in the promises of Jesus. It will be difficult for them as they go about their lives,
though they know Mitch is in a better place, they will miss him dearly. I hope you will join me in remembering to pray for them
often.
Also this week, I have been given a new opportunity. I have accepted a position as Head Softball Coach at Mark Morris
High School. I am very excited about the doors that will be open in our community as I use the experience and abilities God
has given me. I know that God has great victories in store, and I don't mean wins and losses on the field. I pray that
all of you are actively seeking ways that you can share the love of Jesus Christ with the people you know and meet. Mitch's
story has reminded me of the fragility of life, and just how short life really is. We have such a short time on this planet
and I hope that all of us will use the time we have to live out the good news of Jesus Christ and see lives transformed
from the inside out.
May God richly bless you as you serve Him,
Pastor Scott
